PRO DANZA ITALIA
Since June 1993, Pro Danza Italia directed by Pola Chapelle of Bard College in Annandale, NY has been offering a Summer Dance Program in Italy. Faculty from the dance departments of both BARD and BENNINGTON Colleges have been conducting a six week intensive study of dance technique and composition from the peaceful shores of Villa Santa Lucia.
The program has been accepting foreign as well as American dance students and choreographers, providing a unique opportunity for first-hand language and cultural exchange.
At the end of the six week program, it has been a tradition for the participants to perform their own compositions on the outdoor stage of the Castello Pasquini (Pasquini Castle) in Castiglioncello.
